Sure, we missed three of the ten bowl match-ups (from the SEC side) on our original projections and did miss some of the opponent match-ups ... but when you really get down to it, we had the guts to stick it out there while the competitors were belly aching that this stuff was too unpredictable ... nine days after we had made our own predictions.
SECRivals is still the most copied SEC blog on the internet.
We were asked by our friends at BlueWorkHorse.com to participate in this year's Blogger Heisman Poll.
Not that we have an actual Heisman Ballot, because we do not, but if we did here is what our official Heisman Ballot would look like.
Keep in mind that there are zero break-a-way Heisman candidates this season. At some point during the regular season, every Heisman candidate had a poor performance that raised eye brows. While there are several very good players in college football this season, this has to be the most difficult Heisman Trophy to award.
If you were on the Heisman Ballot list, who are your top three and why are they in the order that you are selecting? Is it because the player is actually that good or is it because that is the best player in your region and you are a biased homer? It happens.
University of Tennessee Wide Receivers coach Frank Wilson has decided to return home to Louisiana. Wilson has told UT head coach Lane Kiffin that he has taken an offer from the LSU Tigers to fill the void left by Larry Porter's move to Memphis.
This article was originally written on October 21st, 2009 & will contain outdated information. SECRivals is preparing their Blogger Heisman ballot for BlueWorkHorse.com. We will be looking at our top three Heisman candidates this week ... who is on your list?
Looking at the Heisman race this season, there is no reason a defensive player could make a run at the award.
The Kentucky Wildcats take down the NC Tarheels 68-66 on John Wall's free throws with 4.3 seconds remaining.
While most of the SEC's eyes were on Atlanta for the SEC Football Championship, the fifth ranked Kentucky Wildcats played a rude host to tenth ranked North Carolina in Lexington in front of Rupp Arena's largest ever crowd.
Recap and rant of the SEC Championship Game. Six and a half minutes of SEC Football drivel. Congratulations to the Alabama Crimson Tide, 2009's SEC Football Champions.
In what was billed as a game for the ages, the Crimson Tide rolled over the Florida Gators, stepped on their faces, and twisted. From gun to gun, this game was never in question. The Gators entered the SEC Championship Game as five point favorites and are going home spanked.
I had the opportunity to sit down tonight with two great minds when it comes to college football. Aaron Torres (www.AaronTorres-Sports.com) and Allen Kenney (www.BlatantHomerism.com) know their stuff and know it well. I try to hold my end of the bargain up, but be warned, I do have a face for the radio and a voice made for the shower.
We literally covered the gamut in a marathon-esque podcast that covered almost 90 full minutes from start to finish:
This is our first foray into attempting to select the SECRivals All SEC Team. If you feel that we left someone out or bumped someone too high, let us know by giving us a shout in the comments section.
Of course, as with any great idea, we received our inspiration from the great Brian Harbach of Scout.com

As you are reading this, there are still several backroom deals being cut ... don't you just love college bowl season?
Of course, people are constantly adjusting their college bowl projections .... here are our original picks that were made on November 16th ... over two weeks ago.
Once LSU has been released from BCS consideration, expect the dam to break and tons of announcements to be forth coming ... at least we are not (likely) going to have to wait until next week as we would have if Bama and Florida both were not undefeated.
