Hampton visits USC
By Phil Kornblut

DB Victor Hampton (5-10 175) of Darlington made his official visit to USC over the weekend. Hampton said he had a good visit but did not commit. He's basically down to USC and Tennessee and will try to set up an official visit with the Vols for this coming weekend. Hampton had been to USC for a game earlier in the season so he was already familiar with the football side of things. "I saw some things I needed to find out academic wise and how they run their tutors," Hampton said. "I was already impressed football wise. The atmosphere was great. The defense played good. There were a couple of big plays they gave up. They were a couple of plays away from winning that one. I just needed to visit and see everything. I talked to all the coaches, mostly coach Ward." Hampton said there's no leader right now between USC and Tennessee. He has said he would wait until the US Army All American Game to announce a decision, but now hw says he might have a decision earlier. His mother and guardian joined him on the visit. Jason Barnes was his player host.

Tapley very strong on his commitment 8 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: -2
By Eric Guimaraes

WR Sean Tapley (6-0 180) of Jacksonville, FL says he is very strong with commitment to USC after his unofficial visit to Columbia for the Florida. "It was great," said Tapley. "That was a great game. The fans were crazy. I love the atmosphere." Tapley says he will still take his official visit to Miami in December but that it would take something amazing to change his mind. "I'm going to be a Gamecock next year," he said. Tapley will take an official to USC in January.

Cadogan looking at early December visit to USC
By Phil Kornblut

ATH Sherard Cadogan (6-3 230) of Cherry Hill, NJ is looking at an offcial visit to USC for December 4th at this point. He talked with recruiter GA Mangus earlier this week. Last weekend Cadogan took an unofficial visit to Michigan State with his mother. He made an official visit there in October but his mom didn't go on that trip. He also has taken official visits to Pitt, Wisconsin and West Virginia. Cadogan said all five schools are still in contention. He has no favorite. "It's a hard decision," he said. "I love them all."

In homes for Lattimore this week
By Phil Kornblut

It's a busy week for Byrnes RB Marcus Lattimore. Not only is he preparing with his team for another state championship game, he's got a line of recruiters scheduled to make in person visits with him. Lattimore said North Carolina will be at his school and his home today. Penn State will be in on Tuesday, Georgia Wednesday and Oregon Thursday. Auburn coaches plan to be at the state championship game Saturday. USC recruiter Jay Graham will have an in home visit with Lattimore Sunday. Lattimore said nothing has changed with his six finalists at this point though he did leave open the possibility of an official visit with USC in place of North Carolina. Lattimore has taken officials to Auburn and Penn State. He is scheduled to visit Oregon, North Carolina and Georgia in January. He's taken several unofficial visit to USC including this past Saturday for the Clemson game. "The stadium was rocking and I loved it," Lattimore said. "They ran the ball 58 times and that really impressed me a lot. I got time to speak with coach Spurrier and he was just telling me that he needs me. That made me feel good." Lattimore said the plan right now is for him to announce a decision at his church the day before signing day. He said there is no frontrunner at this point. "I really would tell you, but I really don't," he said. As for what he's looking for in a school, Lattimore said, "It's going to be how they use their running back this year. And basically how comfortable I felt there, with the coaches and the players basically in that city."

Hampton makes another trip to USC
By Phil Kornblut

DB Victor Hampton (5-10 15) of Darlington made another unofficial visit to USC Saturday for the Clemson game. Hampton has already made an official visit and a couple of other unofficial visits to USC. "I just went to the game and spent the night in Columbia," Hampton said. "I talked to coach Johnson, coach Ward and coach Graham. It's the same stuff. They told me they have two more slots for corners and if someone commits to them they'll let me know. I'm still waiting till the Army game (to announce)." Hampton has no plans for other visits right now. Auburn and Tennessee have had contact in the past with Hampton who said he does not have a favorite right now.

Parker meeting with USC today
By Phil Kornblut

To this point, Beaufort LB Justin Parker (6-3 230) has not met with any college reruiters. That will change as of Wednesday. USC recruiter Shane Beamer is scheduled to meet with Parker at his school and his home on Wednesday. LSU's John Chavis is expected to be in on Thursday, and Sunday Clemson's Dan Brooks and Kevin Steele are scheduled for a visit. Parker has taken an official visit to USC and plans to set officials with Clemson and LSU. He's tentatively down for Clemson for January 15th. Parker was in Columbia last Saturday for the Clemson game. "It was crazy," he said. "The atmosphere was unbelievable. The fans, the student section, were all pumped up for the big rival game." Parker said he's been readying himself for the Shrine Bowl and the Offense-Defense All American Game. He continues to favor USC ahead of Clemson, LSU, Georgia Tech and Tennessee.
