Hampton confirms USC as leader
By Eric Guimaraes

ATH Victor Hampton (5-11 175) of Darlington says that USC is high on his list. "Right now, I would have to say USC is my leader," said Hampton. "I will announce my commitment at the Army All American game." Hampton has already taken an official to USC on November 13 and was also at the USC/Clemson game two weeks later. "It was a pretty good game," he said. "Everything went pretty good." Hampton says USC is looking for depth in their secondary. According to Hampton, the schools he is still considering are USC, Tennessee, and Auburn. "I don't know if I'll take any more visits," he said. "I am just trying to soak it all in right now." Hampton says he is still unsure of which school he will choose.

Mack getting USC visit Thursday
By Phil Kornblut

USC recruiters are expected to make an in home visit with committed OL Eric Mack Thursday. Auburn coaches were at his school earlier on Thursday. Mack has maintained his commitment to the Gamecocks though he was not happy with the departure of offensive line coach Eric Wolford for Youngstown State. Mack is scheduled for his official visit to USC January 15th. He also plans to visit Florida January 22. Recruiters from Florida visited with Mack earlier this week.

Williams thinking of more visits
By Phil Kornblut

OL Trammell Williams (6-3 285) of Jacksonville, FL has been committed to USC since the summer and he's holding to that pledge despite the departure of line coach Eric Wolford for Youngstown State. "Coach Wolford was one of the main reasons I was coming there, but with the bond I've created with the other coaches and recruits and the fans, we're going to piece it together without him," Williams said. "As of right now, I'm with South Carolina, no doubt. I don't really pay attention to the other schools. South Carolina has been there from the get go." Williams said Gamecock recruiter Steve Spurrier Jr. has visited him three times, and he talked to head coach Steve Spurrier earlier this week. "He said he had over 48 contacts from other offensive line coaches," Williams said. "He said he's not going to rush into hiring a new coach." Despite the strong words for USC, Williams said he is thinking of setting official visits with Ole Miss and Florida State. Florida State recruiters have been in to see him. He is scheduled for his official visit to USC January 15th.
