As the season winds down, the SEC has nine of its twelve teams bowl eligible. Two additional teams are not out of the hunt. For the SEC haters out there, I want to see another conference that has nine or ten bowl eligible teams. The bowl eligible teams are:
SEC East Florida Gators 10-0 Georgia Bulldogs 6-5 South Carolina Gamecocks 6-4 Kenucky Wildcats 6-4
SEC West Alabama Crimson Tide 10-0 LSU Tigers 8-2 Ole Miss Rebels 7-3 Auburn Tigers 7-4 Arkansas Razorbacks 6-4
Teams That Can Still Reach Bowl Eligibility: The Tennessee Volunteers are 5-5 and are one win away from bowl eligibility. The Vols' schedule has them playing Vanderbilt at home (Nov 21st) and at Kentucky's the following week.
The Mississippi State Bulldogs are not mathematically eliminated at this point. MSU is currently 4-6 and must win out at Arkansas and at home against Ole Miss. There is a very slim chance this team can do this, but stranger things have happened in the SEC in November.
Teams That Are Already Eliminated: Vanderbilt Commodores, 2-9 over all and 0-7 in the SEC. The Commodores are the only team in the conference that has already been eliminated.
We are compiling our list of where we believe the SEC teams will be bowl bound to ... look for our SEC Bowl Predictions to be out sometime this week.
