The Alabama Crimson Tide has secured their spot in Atlanta to face the Florida Gators in a rematch of last season's SEC Championship Game.  SEC goes unbeaten in a weak out of conference schedule.

Alabama Crimson Tide 24
LSU Tigers 15

LSU TigersAlabama used a 14-point fourth quarter to run down the scrappy LSU Tigers.  The win gives Bama the SEC West Title.  At least that is what the box score will say 100 years from now.

The box score was tilted heavily in Alabama's favor:  276 passing, 176 rushing, and only four punts.  Julio Jones finally had a break out game with 102-yards on four catches.  LSU was limited to 95 yards rushing and 158 yards passing.

LSU Alabama
First downs 13 24
Rushing 7 10
Passing 6 13
Penalty 0 1
3rd Down Efficiency 5-for-14, 36% 4-for-14, 29%
4th down efficiency 0-for-1, 0% 1-for-1, 100%
Rushes-Yards 29-95 38-176
Passing Yards 158 276
Return Yards 107 89
Completions-Attempts-Int 14-27-1 19-34-1
Sacks-Yards Lost 3--27 1--2
Punts 8 4
Punts-Average 46.6 37.8
Fumbles Lost 0-0 1-0
Penalties - Yards 8-43 4-20
Time of Possession 27:08 32:52

While I still do not believe in the prevalent conspiracy theories abounding around the internet, watching the game with utter amazement (and mostly disdain), it is unfathomable how LSU was jobbed in this game. While most of the calls were 'judgement calls', the timing of the calls seemed impecable.

Trailing by six, Bama's Greg McElroy threw an interception to LSU's Patrick Peterson ... or so everyone thought.  Upon further review, Alabama maintained possession and put the game out of reach ... this play was only the tip of the ice berg.

Bama did win the game.  Bama is the current SEC West Champs.  I still believe that LSU was jobbed.

Arkansas Razorbacks 33
South Carolina Gamecocks 16

Georgia Bulldogs 38
Tennessee Tech 0

Joe Cox passed for 140 yards and Washaun Ealey ran for 89 as the Bulldogs shut-out the visitors from Tech.

Kentucky Wildcats 37
Eastern Kentucky 12

Morgan Newton had a solid game for the Wildcats, going 20-29, 187-yards and two scores.  Kentucky piled up 444 yards of offense on the outmanned squad from EKU.

Auburn Tigers 63
Furman Paladins 31

Auburn, like several other SEC schools, stepped down a level and took on the Paladins of Furman.  Chris Todd was able to gain some much needed confidence by passing for 256 yards.  Furman scored 28 second half points.

Tennessee Volunteers 56
Memphis Tigers 28

The Vols dispatched the Tigers quickly, jumping out to a 42-7 half-time score.  Eric Berry almost broke the NCAA record for interception return yards in this game, but is still approximately seven yards shy of the record.  Jonathan Crompton pushed the boo-birds farther out of his mind by scoring six total touchdowns (five passing) and passing Ryan Mallet for the lead in the SEC ... yes, Jonathan Crompton has more touchdown passes than any quarterback in the leagueAfter being ran over in the first half (passed over is more like it), Memphis scored 21 second half points.  Will this be the week that Memphis Head Coach Tommy West decides to 'retire'?

Florida Gators 27
Vanderbilt Commodores 3
The season of futility continues for Vandy.  Florida surrendered more return yards (112) than either passing (100) or rushing yards (99).  Florida was led by Tim Tebow's 208 yards passing.

Ole Miss Rebels 38
Northern Arizona 14
Ole Miss was tied 14-14 with 7:55 to go in the half of this game.  Were the Rebels looking ahead to next week's contest with the Tennessee Vols?  Ole Miss reeled off 24-unanswered points to put Northern Arizona away.  Although he finished the game with 235 yards passing, Ole Miss' Jevan Snead only completed 16-of-29 for two touchdowns.
